  • Church of the Cross, Turangi Co-operating The Church of the Cross is a small co-operating Parish with no resident minister but a strong Parish Council who runs the parish. Worship varies according to the traditions involved, and the Parish has a well-received ministry to many visitors. While the congregation tends to be older, a small core of younger families are welcomed and nurtured from time to time.
  • First established as the Turangi Marine Rescue Service in 1974 in 1980 it became Turangi Marine Rescue service. Its final name change was in 1991 when it became a Coastguard Unit.

  • The Tokaanu Turangi RSA Club , on it's formation in August 1958, became the Tokaanu Turangi sub branch of the Taumarunui and District Returned Services Association and remained as such for 34 years until its membership decided to become a RSA Club directly affiliated to its National Association. Delegates from this Association attend District and National meetings to keep abreast of current changes in policy and direction.
  • Tongariro School is a co-educational school established in 2004. We cater for students from new entrants to Form 7, which translates to Year 1 through to Year 13 in the new system becoming established in the New Zealand educational system.
